"I've been going to the Good World for many years for yum char. They have a great selection of food, cooked fresh and very tasty. The lovely staff are very friendly and helpful. It's very easy to order too much and spend the rest of the day, on the couch or having a nap. I recommend the fried delicious dumplings, the steamed pork buns and any of the steamed dumplings especially prawn and coriander."

"This place has been around for years use to walk past in my teens and use to order takeaways in my younger adult days. Now in my 40s we visited from Christchurch recently and stopped in for dinner, and owner was there and greeted us (swear she hasn’t aged). Food was delicious and plentiful we couldn’t eat it all so took some home. Support your local restaurant and this lovely family from the Hutt"

"POLYNESIAN GATHERING VENUE 5/5 Had our parents unveiling here mid Dec 2025 for lunch menu. BYO POLY FOODS OPTION (Must arrange prior with owner before booking): Owner was awesome and accommodating, we were able to bring in Samoan foods (cause you know.. big backs and all ) and use the 2nd warmer set up they have (yes, the awesome staff made sure the other patrons knew that our food was not part of the days buffet and was even standing guard when the other patrons were plating up ) DECORATIONS: The night before, we had wanted to decorate a lil and because the xmas party that was there were running well in to closing time, they told us to come back at closing & we could take our time setting up, they even helped us figure out head table set ups (the knowledge is top tier ) Overall, it was a good size venue, the vibes were on point and the staff were lovely. The lunch buffet they had was good- your standard chinese cuisine (think it was orange beef? That was really good) Definitely consider this local gem for your next Polynesian gathering ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"Had been many years since I last visited Good World. Was back home in Lower Hutt and decided to return. Food is delicious, quick service, you don't wait long for your meals. Linda and Mike are lovely - hospitable, and friendly. Menu has lots of delicious options, and they have the capacity to cater for large groups, yum-cha etc. Recommend for an easy meal out. Take away also available."

"Our favorite family Yum Char in Wellington! Tasty food, a wide variety of food and at a reasonable price. We have been coming here for about 15 years and always enjoyed the experience and the food.
